Yuri’s Butter Rolls
Butter Rolls (15 rolls)
350g strong flour
150g plain flour
165ml milk (lukewarm)
100g butter (room temp)
50g egg ( about 1 large egg)
Yeast mix: 10g Active dried yeast
85ml lukewarm water
Mix yeast, sugar and lukewarm water and leave for 10-15 mins to activate the yeast.
Mix all the ingredients until dough is smooth.
Leave for 1 hour in a warm place until it doubles in size.
When it has doubled, knead again and cut into 15.
With a rolling pin roll out the dough into a long triangle shape. Roll up the dough, starting from the base of the triangle (like when making croissants).
Leave on the baking tray for 15 mins.
Brush with egg and bake for 12 mins at Gas Mark 6.
